This past May, I gave my Mom a Photo Book as a Mother’s Day Gift.  Here are some of the photos I scanned to use in this book.  She absolutely loved it.  Photo Books last longer than flowers and mean so much more to the recipient.

A few years ago my daughter created a Photo Book for my 37th birthday.  Now that she is a teenager, there are days I will grab the photo book and remember that underneath that teenage attitude is thoughtful and caring daughter.  I love you Tori!

You can create a photo book to tell your vacation story.  I know I have hundreds of photos from various vacations.  Just this summer I visited my parents and the kids had a ball cooling off in the swimming pool which I digitally scrapped here. And one of these days I will finish the photo book from my trip to Hawaii.

Another photo book you can create is a Yearbook for children or family.  Once a month you can scrap a page or two of family photos taken that month and then at the end of the year you can have the book published.  This is a great way to preserve those everyday moments.

You can also create a photo book of those special occasions.  While my daughter and her friends were getting ready for the Homecoming Dance last year, I invaded their space and took lots of photographs of the prep work and then some fun photos before they left for the dance.  I will combine these with photos my daughter took while at the dance.  Her own personal yearbook of her years in high school.

A wedding is another wonderful occasion for creating a photo book.  A photo book is a great way to remember the event long after the guests have gone home and you have recovered from your honeymoon.  You can tell the story of how you met, the proposal, the engagement session photos, the actual wedding itself to the honeymoon.  All in one book to cherish for years to come.

Celebrate those marriage milestones with an Anniversary photo book.  Delight the couple with a compilation of special highlights from their lives together.

The most popular reason to create a photo book – having a Baby!  First time parents are ecstatic about the arrival of their first born child and will get shutter happy and take photos of just about anything that happens, from smiles to poop.  Yes, I have seen pictures of poop.

Speaking of baby, grandparents absolutely adore grandchildren.  They also love to brag about their grandchildren and giving them a “Brag Book” makes a great gift for Grandparent’s Day and especially Christmas.

Sadly, grandparents sometimes pass away before a child is born or can remember.  This can be heartbreaking, I know.  My father passed away when my daughter was 5 years old and my son will never know his grandfather.  I also have a good friend whose mother passed suddenly just 3 months before she gave birth to the first family granddaughter.  One way to honor those memories and teach our children about family heritage is by creating a photo book.

Now here is one that I will be working on next, A Family Cookbook.  I have been wanting to put together a book for my children of recipes they have loved over the years.  I also want to be able to pass on recipes I learned from my family.  A few years ago my cousin and I got together with our daughters and spent a day creating our grandmother’s friend apple pies recipe with our girls.  I, being the family photographer took many pictures while cooking.  Between the photos and the recipes, its a wonderful way to pass on family traditions.

If you have children in elementary school, then you probably have an overwhelming amount of your child’s artwork.  You can create a photo book of your child’s art by scanning it into your computer and creating a book of their very own.  This is a great way to preserve your child’s work and to build confidence in themselves.

Many families have been affected by Breast Cancer.   Perhaps you know of someone who won their battle against Breast Cancer.  Or perhaps you know of a family who lost a loved one to this terrible disease.
