Project 365: Day 27

The Hunt for Home

Yesterday we got the news that the house we are currently living in is being put on the market by the landlord.  Very disturbing news we got.  We have been here for two years and fell in love with this custom built home immediately.  Not a single white wall in sight.  Hardwood floors throughout except in the bedrooms.  A huge open kitchen/living/dining room with rustic stained cabinets and granite countertops.  There are just too many details to list.

Fate, destiny whatever you want to call it seems to be at play here.  The yard pictured above actually belongs to a friend.  See they moved out of state in 2006.  I helped them clean the house and move out.  Their house is once again empty and definitely in need of a little TLC.  And just the right size for my family and I.

Though it won’t have the many things we’ve come to take for granted these past two years like a garage or the wide open kitchen and spacious countertops.  My daughter will be able to sleep in the same room once occupied by her best friend.  Natural gas!  And more importantly, a nice spacious area that I will be able to use as an office/studio.  Just what I need to jumpstart my photography business.

Now on to the dreaded task of packing, changing addresses, changing schools for my 1st grader and then unpacking and getting settled in.

And no technical info for you today because this photo was snapped using my Blackberry Storm camera.
