A Snow Capped Panorama

I always love taking landscape photos the day after it storms. This is stitched together from 3 photos I took earlier this afternoon.

There is a trick to taking photos that you plan to merge or stitch together.  Usually best to have your camera on a tripod.  You will also want to have your camera set to “Manual” mode so that the settings stay consistent from beginning to ending photos.

Before the first frame on your photograph, take a picture of your left hand in the frame to specify the beginning of the photos to merge.  You will want to overlap the photos by about 20%.  Turn the camera one click to the right and take the next photo.  You should only have about 10 seconds between each photo. When you get to the last photo, take a photograph with your right hand in the frame to signal the end of the sequence.

Once you have upload your photos, before merging make any corrections to the settings.  For instance, I uploaded my photos into Adobe Lightroom and then applied a series of presets to each photo.

Now you are ready to merge the photos in your computer.  My camera came with a program specifically for merging photos.  Programs like this will automatically overlap the photos.  After I did all of this, I found out that you can also merge your photos together in Photoshop Elements.
