As gross as it may be (because I’ve seen where that doggy tongue has been), there is unconditional love and joy being expressed when a dog showers you with doggy kisses, wouldn’t you agree? I was fortunate to capture this unconditional love between a boy and his dog last week as I bribed my son outside for an impromptu photo shoot. I wanted to test out the afternoon lighting on my northeast facing garden patio. Soon this garden patio will be transformed into my own private outdoor portrait studio. We already have Wisteria, Day Lily’s and Autumn Sage growing and I am looking to add some Star Jasmine vines in the near future. And perhaps some Gardenias because they smell so wonderful. I’m getting sidetracked here.
Back to the impromptu photo shoot with my son and our Dachshund, Snapple. I can tell you that I snapped way more photos than is shown here but these were my favorites. I love the photo in the upper right corner where Snapple is licking her chops. She is probably thinking, “Tasty!” considering my son had just finished his afternoon snack. And the photo just under that way, if you look closely you can just see the tip of Snapple’s tongue.
And in the last photograph (lower right corner) my son totally denies that he is looking at Snapple out of the corner of his eye. Swears he had his eyes closed. I am sure if I blew up that image, he would clearly see that his eyes were not closed. What do you think, eyes closed or sneaking a peek at Snapple? Leave me your thoughts in the comments.
P.S. While searching online for some inspirational words for this post, I came across this recipe for dogs titled appropriately “Doggy Kisses”. So if you have dogs, here’s a fun little recipe you can cook up for your pooch.
