These days I seem to have a love hate relationship with my blog.  While I do enjoy writing, sharing images and teaching.  There are days I just don’t look forward to the time it takes to write a blog post, get the images up and make it perfect.  And then there are times like today where I am excited about something and can’t wait to share with my readers.

So what am I excited about?  Photo Restoration.

Generally I don’t do Restoration work on images.  It can be a rather time consuming task.  Not to mention the Photoshop skills required to properly restore an image.  But when a dear friend asked me to restore this image so she could send it as a gift to a family member, I offered to at least look at the image to see if this restoration was something within my skill level.  My friend was thrilled when I said it was something I felt I could restore.

I spent about an hour on this image, removing the dust spots and repairing some tears in the original image that occurred when the original frame broke.  Then I spent a little time restore some of the color and contrast of the image and add some sparkle to the eyes.  I have to say that I am rather pleased with the final results.  I can’t wait to send it to the lab for printing and then hand it to my friend.  I believe she will be quite pleased with the results.
