This morning a blogosphere friend of mine, Carletta from Round the Bend, was Tagged with a challenge. Here is the challenge:
Your Mission, should you choose to accept it:
1) Go to your photo files…Select the 6th photo folder
2) Select the 6th photo in that folder
2) Select the 6th photo in that folder
4) Then challenge 6 blog friends to do the same!
It’s one o’clock in the morning, so sure, why not take on a new challenge. First I reviewed Carletta’s photograph and read her story. Then I went digging into my digital files to find the sixth photo within the sixth folder.
The story behind the photograph. Ever since I took up the camera back in 2002 I have had a fascination with the many fallen joshua trees that can be found throughout the Mojave Desert. They age in a unique way that I find captivating. The smoothness of the trunk stripped by mother nature of its bark. The fine hairs that cover the trunk. A hollow core surrounded by the rings of the trunk. Each and every joshua tree tells a story. And now that I think about it, I recently read a blog post stating that the infamous tree pictured on the album cover of U2’s “The Joshua Tree” now lay fallen in the spot where the photograph was taken. I believe I will have to search out this location and photograph the fallen joshua tree myself. Perhaps this will turn into a photography essay project.
Well I must thank Carletta for passing this challenge onto me and unknwingly inspired me to do more storytelling. And now I pt before you, my readers, this same challenge. Please leave a comment so that I may visit your blogs and view your sixth photograph within your sixth file folder. 🙂
