Funny how life manages to repeat itself through the generations.  I met my best friend in 1976 when I got interested in Blue Birds Troop (part of the Camp Fire USA) and my Mom let me join a local troop.  The troop leader had a daughter who was 11 months and 1 day older than me.  That marked the beginning of a life long friendship) that is still going strong today.

Fast forward to 1999, the beginnings of another life long friendship between my daughter and Rebecca, who was the leader’s daughter of the Girl Scout Brownie Troop my daughter joined.  See the similarities here! 🙂

When I read about the I heart faces challenge this week about Friendship, I immediately thought of this image I captured in 2010 when Tori and I met for a visit with her best friend, Rebecca, and her family (who moved out of state in 2006.)

“Friendship," said Christopher Robin, "is a very comforting thing to have.”

―
A.A. Milne

This quote is near and dear to my heart because it describes how I feel about friendship.  No matter the miles between my best friend and I (or my daughter and Rebecca) it’s always been a comfort to know that they are always there for you no matter what.

Come back tomorrow to see the image I captured of the girls’ reaction to the image they captured of themselves.
