bartering for services

I always seem to find myself in the Cyber Wonderland. Over the years I have stumbled upon many useful or cool sites over the years. This morning my journey took me to http://thepixeltrade.com/.

This photographer has been bartering his camera for transportation, shelter and food for the last 15 months across the Continents. What an amazing adventure this must be.

And earlier this year, a friend of mine (a family of 7) sold their home, sold their belongs and hit the open road in a RV, homeschooling along the way and sharing the Gospel.  I would love to take my family on such an epic road trip.  The sights we would see, the people we would meet and the things we would learn along the journey.

Long before there was money, people used to barter for everything.  And think of how less stressed we would be without having to worry about money all the time.

Perhaps this would be a way for hubby and I to fund our retirement, traveling North America in a RV.  And bartering is right up my alley as I have been trading my services with local businesses and friends for a few years now.   Just last week I utilized my tech skills in exchange for a friend to sew some repairs in my husband’s uniforms.  I’m obviously handy with my camera as well as technology, while my husband has a green thumb and is a skilled handyman.

Yes, a new adventure is beginning to form here.  I will have to let this percolate and see where it takes me.

What would you love to do if you could barter your services?

xoxo, Patricia
