The theme for Week 11 of my Art Journaling Caravan is Flourish.
(flour-ish: grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way, esp. as the result of a particularly favorable environment…)
When I sat down to start Week 11’s Art Journaling project, I just gazed upon the blank canvas as nothing was coming to mind. And then I just started throwing elements onto the canvas, randomly placing colorful items on the page. Hit save and then walked away and went to bed to let the design simmer overnight.
I have to be honest, there are days I feel like throwing in the towel and just going back to work for someone else. Do you every feel like that? But then I go to my happy place (behind my camera, somewhere in Joshua Tree National Park) and all is right with my world once again.
And when I came back to it, I totally scraped what I had created and started fresh (with the easy button aka DELETE). I don’t recall know what inspired me but I love what I created. A reminder that I just need to keep practicing my art of photography (developing my skillset) and never stop pursuing my dreams.
So the images to the left are mine from the past 6 years. Wow, hard to believe I’ve been at this for 6 years (only 4 years professionally). And the images on the right are images of inspiration of where I want to go with my photography, focusing on high school senior girls.
And I love this quote from Mae Chevrette. I just may have to get this one printed so I can display it at my workstation at all times.
I just need to live in my happy place ALL. THE. TIME!
Enough of my random thoughts today. Have a wonderful week! Until next time…
xoxo,
Patricia
