Just another windy afternoon in the desert. But that did not matter to Nancy and Eddie.  They were surrounded by their family and their closest friends to witness their love for one another and the joining of two families.

As I moved about the outer edges of the where the guests were sitting, trying to capture the emotional ceremony, I have to admit that I started getting a little teary eyed myself.  The looks exchanged between Nancy and Eddie as a dear friend sang a ballad were so precious.

And as a child who was not even present when either of my parents got remarried, I especially loved how they included their children from previous marriages into the ceremony. Some of the children read a special passage during the ceremony and then there was a moment when each child placed yellow roses into a vase, bringing all the family together.  Granted some of these “children” were adults now but I still think its very important to include them the ceremony, etc.

All of this took place at the Desert Princess Country Club located in Cathedral City.  I loved all the beautiful flowers in the planters surrounding the outdoor ceremony site.  Made for a colorful backdrop.  And every now and then we would get sprayed with water by the fountain in the lake (thanks to the winds blowing steadily.)  Which I did mind much since I was running around a bit while wearing black.  LOL

Now I have to admit that wedding photography is not something I have a desire to pursue full time, but I rather enjoyed working this small wedding in the desert. Guess I’ll take the on a case by case basis.

And I was honored to work alongside Marcy Johns Photography to capture these special moments from Nancy & Eddie’s wedding day.  I love that so many in the Photography Industry are willing to share their time and knowledge with other photographers.  I, for one, would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for the generosity of other photographers.  Some day I hope to be able to pay it forward.  🙂
