art journaling the beginning

2014 Art Journaling Caravan – Can you help me find my creative self?

I’ve been a creative person for as long as I can remember. In recent years though, I haven’t felt all that creative. I’ve been so focused on raising my children (one of which I home school now)  and running my own business that my creativity got lost in the chaos of life.

Well its time to find my creativity and find some balance in my life.

Do you believe in signs?  Well I do and one appeared in my email box this morning from Scrapbookgraphics.com.  These words jumped off the screen at me, “This year our theme is “Not all those that wander are lost”. You could even think of it as a journey with our Muse (or even our Muses). It’s perfect for us to go on an adventure letting ourselves wander through art and creativity following our heart.”

I’ve considered art journaling before, especially after stumbling upon Donna Downey’s blog and watching several of her Inspiration Wednesday Videos on YouTube. I just love watching her think out loud!  In fact, the beginning of this year I purchased some canvases with every intention of being creative but then we had to pack everything up and move and I lost my motivation as well as my studio space.

So needless to say, art journaling like Donna Downey did not happen.

But this Art Journaling Caravan might be right up my alley, considering I don’t need physical supplies.  Nope!  All I need is Photoshop and some time in my not so comfortable desk chair.  I even gave it a test run and created this little work of digital art in a matter of minutes thanks to the journaling prompts.

Next week I will begin my journey on this art journaling caravan with the hope of reconnecting with my creative self.

What do you do to stay creative?

xoxo, Patricia
