I have been totally MIA around my blog lately.
I sit down to write and the words, they just are not forthcoming. It’s like my brain just freezes up. I’ve been told many time to outsource what you don’t like to do so I’ve actually considered hiring someone to write for me. Anyone interested in being my ghost writer? LOL
But I have been continuing on with my art journaling project for 2014. I’ve been trying out a variety of new techniques in Photoshop. Where would I be without that program? I’d probably be stuck in some office somewhere working for someone else instead of following my dreams wherever they may take me.
I’ve also been spending some time discovering new artists. My favorite right now is Ben Heine. I love how he incorporates his drawings into his photographs. His Pencil vs. Camera series is quite amazing. I would love to be able to incorporate some of his techniques into a personal project. Someday…
Anyways, back to my art journaling project for week 10. This week’s theme was Imagination. I was definitely influenced by some artists I discovered on deviantart.com. Pixiecold is one of them. Not only does she draw these amazing images of eyes, she does makeup as well. Just seeing all of her work got my imagination wheels turning and I pinned several ideas for concept shoots onto my Pinterest Board.
As I was creating this latest art journaling creation, these thoughts came to mind…
“Thanks to deviantart.com I have tumbled down the rabbit hole but have discovered many creative talented artists. I have a long way to come when it comes to my art. Something to aspire too! — feeling happily lost in wanderland!”
Being an artist is a never-ending exploration of the world around you and new techniques to try. I’m still excited to see where my year of art journaling will take me and my dreams.
Have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo,
Patricia
