Our Art Journaling inspiration for this week…

Write down a real life adventure that you’ve had/been on, with a “storybook” feel! I always wish my dad had written down the story about the time he fell into a pit of Diamondback rattle snakes in an old abandoned mine….make sure you get some of your stories down!

This one brought me back to a project I started working on a few years ago when I was a Consultant for Heritage Makers. A book for my daughter about her father. See my first husband died when my daughter was barely 10 weeks old.  So the only memories she’ll ever have are my memories.

Fortunately, I saved just about every letter and card ever passed between her father and I from the very beginning of our relationship.  The day I began this project, I sat down at my desk to put everything in chronological order.  It took me several hours between my tears and smiles to stroll down memory lane.

This September will mark the 21st Anniversary of his passing.  A reminder that I need to get working on this project again before I get too old to remember all those good and bad times.  I think as soon as I finish this blog post, I’m going to schedule some time on my weekly calendar to work on this project in hopes of getting it done before too long.

Patricia Knight Photography Art Journaling Week 13 Reading

This art journaling prompt is a good reminder for everyone on how important it is to not only record our lives with pictures, but to take a few moments to write down the words to go along with those memories.

So what stories will you write down to pass on to your children and future generations?  I hope you’ll share a few of your stories in the comments section.

Have a wonderful weekend!
