How I Capture Family Portraits
I am envious of my fellow photographers who have photogenic families and can capture their own family portraits. My family…NOT. SO. MUCH!
Case in point, last night (just as I was heading out the door to meet a client) my husband comes out of the bathroom sporting a funky mohawk. My guy is usually serious so this was a pretty funny event in my household. I immediately grabbed a camera (my cell phone) to snap a picture. He RUNS!
Chased him into my son’s room. All I got was a hand to the camera.
Then he runs for the safety of the bathroom. I nearly lost a few fingers trying to push my way into the bathroom. But I was persistent.
And this is how I get pictures of my family!
By wedging myself between the door and the door jam and aiming for my husband’s reflection in the mirror to get a picture. Managed to get myself in there as well.
The mohawk was gone before I returned from my client meeting. But at least I grabbed a picture (be it a somewhat blurry, out of white balance one) before it disappeared. My husband will probably never do that again.
Especially if he learns that I blogged about it. LOL
So do you have a photogenic family or do you have to fight for pictures of them like I do?
