Today as I was driving from one grocery store to the other (to take advantage of the coupon deals) I passed a parking lot hosting a Classic Car Show. I was immediately interested in something other than driving the road in front of me. I made a mental note to come back this way after shopping and turned my attention back to driving.
I love classic cars! And I am so glad that I went back after shopping. Because there were some beauties on display. My only wish at that moment was that I had my big girl camera with me. Alas I remembered the wise words of one Chase Jarvis, “The best camera is the one you have with you.” So thank goodness for the camera on my LG Ally.
This Chevy Camaro takes me back. My BFF in high school had one. Her father had his own muffler shop in San Clemente so he had connections in the world of automobiles. He purchased a 1968 Camaro for her Sweet Sixteen for $500. It took them several months to fix it up but it was so worth. And he painted it cherry red and it had a black leather interior. And the stereo was rockin’! We loved this car.
It was a magnet for good looking guys too. I remember one afternoon we were headed to the library real quick before I had to go to work. A white mini-truck pulled up beside us with speakers boomin’. And the chase was on. After flirting for a few miles, we pulled over and exchanged one numbers. That’s when I met Marvin…
So do you have a special car that always takes you back to the good old days? Do share…
