Yay for fall weather!  Today’s high is only set to be about 85 degrees.

For some of you that may be warm for fall, but to us desert ratz, its just right!  And I’m actually having to take a jacket with me when I head out in the evening to photograph the setting sun or the night skies.  Was glad to have my jacket on this past Sunday when I set out to capture the sun setting across the desert as clouds were building overhead for a coming storm.

As I was waiting for the sun to go down, I began to explore the area around me only to stumble upon another photographer photographing a woman in the nude up on the rock formation.  Yes, the golden hour light is amazing for portraits.  So glad I didn’t have my 12 year old son with me.  Yikes!

falls angle

While the storm clouds always make for a more interesting sunsets, this evening I was more entranced by the angle of the fall sunlight as it descended in the west on the landscape before me.  I only grabbed a handful of images, created one panorama and took a shadow selfie before the sun set prematurely due to a bunch of clouds in the western skies.
