It’s rare to have a day here in the desert without wind these days. And had we meet in the Park for our original Family Portrait Session, it would have been gusting all about us. But fate intervened, and Miles took a tumble the day before, which left him with quite the shiner on his left eye, so we had to postpone the session. If parenthood has taught me one thing, its to be flexible with your schedule when you have kids and this learned skill has carried over well to my photography business.
Miles and Savannah were bundles of energy when it came time to capture some family portraits. But Mom had a plan to help keep them on track. Candy! And it worked like a charm. Most of the time.
But that’s ok, because I had a back up plan. My iPad mini loaded with some fun poses the kids could pick out. So between Mom’s candy bribes and me letting the kids have a say so in the portraits, we managed to capture a few beautiful moments. As well as some funny ones.
And here are just a few of our favorites. Mom and Dad loved the image where their all sitting in the grass. I was thrilled when they choose this portrait for their living room. In fact, I just hung it in their home this past week. I have to say though that my favorite image is the one where the kids are on Mom and Dad’s shoulders because it captured the true spirit of the kids, playful and mischievous.
