Being creative has its moments.  Sometimes you can be creatively blocked.  And then there are times when your creative side can heal your soul.  This week is just the beginning to a very chaotic month for me.  So much going on.  And not enough of me to go around.  But when I saw this week’s Fix It Friday image on the I Heart Faces blog, I jumped at the chance to put all my frustrations aside and just focus on this image.  Definitely had a calming affect on me.

So here is the original image provided by the wonderful “creatives” over at I Heart Faces to the rest of us “creatives” to practice our editing skills on.

Here’s a breakdown of what I did in Lightroom:

  • Toned down the highlights by bumping up the shadows.
  • Adjusted the vibrancy.
  • Increased the contrast.
  • Brightened, saturated and sharpened the eyes.
  • Reduced some of the more noticeable blemishes on his face.

But I’m not finished yet.  I recently purchased some templates from one of my favorite Designers, Ashe Designs.  And they just happen to be some amazing templates for Seniors.  Perfect.  But first I had to mask out the background of this original image.  So into Photoshop I went to weild my magic brush.

Then I opened up the PSD Template from Ashe Designs and dropped in the image of this dashing young Senior of 2011.  And this is my Final Edit.  What do you think?
