What do you do before going to college? Throw a party to celebrate your volleyball scholarship, of course!
You may recognize the girl in the photos. She’s just about everywhere on my site. I’ve had a blast over the last year or so capturing Chelsea in her element. And I was honored when she contacted me last week to photograph her Special Event this past weekend.
This girl lives and breathes volleyball. And all of her hard work and countless hours to her craft have paid off. I was thrilled for her when she told me that she had gotten a volleyball scholarship to Northland College. Her parents have mixed feeling though. Their totally excited that she got a scholarship but the college is so far away from home.
As I Mom, I totally get how hard it is to see your baby grow up and embark on a new adventure hundreds or even thousands of miles away from home. I went through this just last August when I drove my daughter to Utah to accept a job at Bryce Canyon National Park. As much as we would like to keep them close to home, we’ve got to let them go and create their own lives. I hope Mom will take some comfort in knowing that our baby’s will always need us, even if its to take care of the creepy crawly things.
The party was well under way by the time I arrived and got set up with the Photo Booth. And as more guests arrived, the photo booth pics got even crazier thanks to an assortment of props I had brought with me. I’ll leave it to your imagination as to what this group of millennials did with the neon colored blow up microphones and air guitars. LOL
But here are some of my favorite photos that I can share with the world.
Again I just want to say Congratulations to Chelsea on her volleyball scholarship to Northland College. I wouldn’t be surprised if I see Chelsea playing on an AVP team or perhaps in an upcoming Olympic Summer Games!
