On Thursday, my son and I took a road trip from the desert to Los Angeles and back again.  Our destination was The Getty Center to participate in a Home School Event. And I wanted to check out a few Photography Exhibits that had just opened.  When we left the desert, the temperature was already over 100 degrees.  But once we reached the city, it wasn’t even a comfortable 80 degrees.

If you are not familiar with June Gloom, this is what it looks like.

Clouds laying low and very little sunshine if at all.  I’ve been living in the desert for 15 years now and I have to say I do not miss June Gloom. At. All.  And I have a renewed appreciation for a “traffic jam” in my little town of Yucca Valley (compared to the ones in Los Angeles.)

Perhaps you will find sunnier skies on the other blogs participating in this week’s Skywatch Friday.  So click on over…
