Have you ever called in sick for your children so you could all play hookie together?
That’s exactly what I did a few weeks ago so my kids and I could take a little road trip to the Los Angeles Zoo. My kids had never been there and I am too old to remember if I had ever been there before. Guess I would have to ask my Mom. We were also getting in for Free thanks to CAVA which is the homeschool option I have decided to use with my son, who will be entering into the Second Grade come this fall.
Not too long after we started wondering through the zoo, we came across the Zebras. I guess one Zebra really objected to having his or her photograph taken because they came over to the fence, right where we were standing and began making the noise that Zebra’s do. Scared the snot out of all of us. If you pay attention, you will see a snapped a photo of my son hiding behind the telescope just after this happened.
And I swear, every amusement park or attraction we go to and they give us a map, my son has to be in charge of where we are going. I have a collection of photos now from Disneyland, Legoland and now the Los Angeles Zoo of my son walking around reading the map. Perhaps I will turn this into a collection one day.
This is one of my favorite photos of the day. Believe it or not this is actually a posed photograph. My daughter who is normally texting constantly with her friends was rather enjoying the day at the zoo. I think she was enjoying herself more than my son was. Go figure!
