New year equals new projects. I fell in love with Pinterest last year and viewed I was going to complete a Project 52 this year. And its going to be strictly ideas and inspiration I get from Pinterest. And it starts today! Today I am going to make a tulle skirt inspired by Australian photographer Sue Bryce with a tutorial I found on Pinterest.

First of all, let me talk about being inspired by Sue Bryce.  I first introduced to Sue Bryce in February 2012 when I went to WPPI.  It’s a huge convention for Portrait Photographers.  And Sue has been featured as a Teacher on Creative Live a few times in 2012, which is where I learned some of her tricks for creating her own props for her portrait sessions.  She made it look so easy but I never took the time to create anything.

Now let’s talk about Pinterest!  I so love this site.  It’s a wonderful source of inspiration in so many areas of life: food recipes, crafts, homeschooling resources, photography inspiration and the list goes on and on.  I have to admit that I have spent many a hours browsing Pinterest and pinning stuff.  I will even forgo dinner in front of the television to feast on my food while feasting on the delights on Pinterest.  And that’s how I found a tutorial on a no sew way to make a tulle skirt.

So what make me think of doing a Pinterest Project 52?

Well, as a photographer I have done a Project 365 (taking a photo every day for a year) to help me improve my photography skills and try out new ideas.  This can be a huge undertaking (I know since I failed the first year I attempted it) so many photographers started doing a picture a week hence a Project 52.  So that’s when the idea came to me to marry my love of Pinterest project with a Project 52.

So yes, I will be taking plenty of pictures of my Pinterest projects as I progress through the year.  If you’d like to follow along or perhaps even join me on this creative adventure in 2013, be sure to sign up for blog updates via email (link is to your right) and comment.  And I’ll be sure to check out your projects as well throughout the year.

And don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest as well!

Hope you have a Pinteresting year.
