Project 365: Day 7.1Desert "Black" Ice

Everywhere I turn online these days, everyone is talking about the weather the deep freeze , and black ice in the deep south.

Meanwhile in Yucca Valley,

California residents are enjoying mild winter days hovering around 60 something. The only "black ice" I could find was in this "dessert" cup.

I was able to achieve this "black ice" effect by taking my son’s Crayola Glow Pen (Amazon link) and shining it on the "dessert" cup from the side just outside the view of the camera. The only post-processing I applied was some detail sharpening and heavy on the vignetting.

Technical Info: Camera: Canon Rebel T1i on a tripod

Focal Length: 37mm

And here is what the “Ice” looked like without the Crayola Glow Pen.
