Cholla: The Beginnings
Needing to get away from my computer for a while on Friday afternoon, I decided to go on a Desert Photo Walk. I was drawn to this still young Cholla plant. It reminds me of a couple dancing. And I was careful not to get too close as they can be dangerous. They have a nick name of “jumping cholla” because as it grows bigger and branches off, little buds come off easily. And let me tell you, those needles are painful should they get embedded into your skin. And they do not come out easily.
