This week is full of announcements!
To begin with, I’m so excited to be a Walk Leader for Scott Kelby’s 4th Annual World Wide Photo Walk happening Saturday, October 1st in downtown Joshua Tree.
For the past two years I have participated as a Photographer in 2009 in Palm Desert, California and 2010 in Panguitch, Utah during our Family Vacation in Utah. This has been a great way to make new friends with Photographers of all skill levels.
But since this year’s WWPW date was changed from July to October (cooler temperatures around the world), I decided to sign up as a Walk Leader so I don’t have to travel too far. And what better location then downtown Joshua Tree. Our walk will begin in the parking lot for the Joshua Tree National Park Visitor’s Center, located just Southwest of Park Blvd/Hwy 62 and then travel West on the highway passing the various store fronts located downtown. And then afterwards, we’ll venture into one of the local restaurants for some breakfast and a sharing of our images.
Here’s a video about the Photo Walk for those who are not familiar with this Annual Event:
Did I mention that there are prizes? Yep! I will have the dubious honor of selecting one image submitted by the participant’s of the Joshua Tree Photo Walk. That person will win Scott Kelby’s most recent book, “Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It” From there, Scott will choose 10 Finalist, and then one of those will win the Grand Prize (which is pretty awesome). You can check out all the details HERE.
And once you get signed up, be sure to click on to Café Press to get your official WWPW T-Shirt. All proceeds go to feeding the kids at the Springs of Hope, Kenya Orphanage.
So are you ready to join me and other Photographers from around the Morongo Basin for an early morning walk through downtown Joshua Tree in October? If so, click HERE to sign up for this year’s WWPW.
