One of this season’s hot trends can be found in bold colors and basic geometric shapes.

The tribal summer fashion wave can be found today in almost every type of adornment, from tee shirts to beaded jewelry, shoes to gowns, animal prints to safari jackets.  Shoot, even home decor is getting in on the tribal summer fashion wave. I don’t see this trend going away anytime soon. Do you?

The tribal trend influences the fashion industry with bold and sometimes even neon colors, paired with earth tones. Geometric shapes, feathers and arrows are also take offs of the style. It’s like the designers took a page from the National Geographic Magazine.

Do’s and Don’t of Tribal Summer Fashion

Do mix tribal prints with neutral solids that compliment the tribal print.

Don’t wear tribal from head to toe. Everything in moderation.

Do compliment your outfit with some fun chunky jewelry like bracelets, necklaces and earrings.

Don’t wear excessive tribal makeup or paint on a mask. Keep it simple.

Do dress for your body type. The wrong kind of tribal print can accentuate what you may want to hide.

Even I could not resist the tribal trend and recently purchased this summer top from Kohl’s.  I’m always looking for something comfortable to wear in the desert that will keep me cool and this sleeveless top was the perfect match to a pair of denim bermuda shorts.

To add the tribal summer fashions to your wardrobe, try finding pieces that aren’t as spendy, yet still attractive. Find a few tribal pieces that you can easily pair with items already hanging in your closet.  And accessories are always a great way to get in on the wave trend without having to spend a lot of money.  Your bigger dollars should go to more timeless and classic pieces, since the on trend items won’t last as long.

Do you have any tribal fashion items in your summer wardrobe?
