I could spend my whole day at my computer editing photos and then scrapbooking them. Especially other people’s photos. Like this on here from one of the readers of the iheartfaces photo blog. Every Friday they post a photo for others to edit. You can learn plenty just by seeing what other people will do with a photograph.
What did I do to this photograph? Here’s my tutorial:
First I imported the image into Adobe Lightroom (Amazon link) and adjusted the fill light so that you could see the details that were lost in the shadows of the lower right portion of the photograph.
Next I started playing around with some Lightroom Presets that I had previously imported. I absolutely fell in love with the photograph when I applied the HSL – Pink only Preset. What this did was take away all colors in the photograph except for pink. And this is the result you get:
To finish this project, I went online and opened Heritage Makers Studio and proceeded to do a 8.5 x 11 scrapbook page. I dropped in the pink textured page and then the black page. Brought in the photo and centered it on the page. I also added a black border to the photograph to help it stand out against the pink background. I then applied some embellishments as the icing on the cake.
